EverQuest will always have a special place in my heart: it was my very first MMO. I can still remember the feeling of wonder as I leveled my character, made friends with people from all over the world, and repeatedly fell to my death from the platforms in Kelethin. It was incredibly fun, and incredibly addicting! Fortunately for my GPA, I went off to college without a gaming computer, but I still look back fondly on my memories of that time.
So when the fine folks at SOE asked if I’d step back into the original world of Norrath and write about my experiences, I jumped at the chance. As soon as I hit Play and that majestic theme song washed over me, it felt like coming home. To up the nostalgia factor, I decided to recreate my old High Elf Magician on the Erollisi Marr server.
Meet Stellara:
I’ve spent some time running around the tutorial area (more on that later!) and some of it is definitely coming back, but people of Norrath, I need your help! Got any good resources or tips for a veteran newbie? (I’d especially love your recommendations for UI mods.) And if you see me in-game, feel free to say hi… I’d love to group with my fellow players as I re-learn the game that started it all for me!
