Real life first name: Richard
Main Character name: Pinhedd
Server: Zek
Guild: North Star Avengers
Where in the real life world do you live? Toronto, Ontario, Canada
How long have you played EQ?? Coming up two and a half years soon
What other MMOs have you played? Too many to count, Planetside, Ultima Online too name the bigger ones
What type of work do you do? Customer Service
How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQ? Anywhere from two hours to eighteen hours depending on how busy I am.
What does a typical EQ day consist of for you? Hmm, logging on, avoiding PoK at all costs (I think I'm the only chanter on Zek with KEI), sitting in guild hall, hosting questionable conversations in guild chat, sometimes I even get out and get some experience.
What was the race and class of your very first character? I think my very first character was a Human Rogue, I only got him to level 7 or something.
What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most? I cant even remember what got me into gaming, it was so long ago. I remember playing wolfenstein and Doom many many years ago and having a blast (literally)
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing EverQuest? I like to do a lot of snowboarding during the winter, unfortunately this year has been excruciatingly tame and warm for Canada. In my off time I like to read books (fantasy or sci-fi fiction preferably), paint models (Warhammer 40K), bum around and play other games.
What is your highest level in EQ? 70, duh.
What race and class is your main character? My main character is a 70 Enchanter
What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character? I like the Enchanter class primarily because they have NO healing abilities, I hate healing! I'm also somewhat of a control freak and I enjoy screwing with stuff.
Does your main character worship a deity? Only because he has to! (Couldn't be Agnostic on Sullon Zek) Mithaniel Marr was my choice by force only.
How did you choose your main character's name? I think my father suggested it, it just stuck.
Which classes in EQ have you NOT played? I think this could be better answered by what classes I HAVE played: warrior, Paladin, Cleric, Ranger, Druid, Enchanter.
What is your favorite expansion? My favorite expansion is Luclin, primarily because I did most of my leveling on it and I love the way the zones flow into eachother
What is your favorite zone? I really like Acrylia Caverns and Shadowhaven, hard to choose between them.
What is your favorite npc? Cant say I have one.
Which expansion do you like the least? LDoN, no plot, endless grind, horrible gear, redundant, THE WALLS OMG THE WALLS.
Which zone do you like the least? Nektulos Forest (old and new), I remember getting killed repeatedly in there as a lowbie, and the revamped version just looks silly.
Which npc do you like the least? Driana Poxsbourne in the old West Freeport Sewers. After I got tired of playing a rogue I started a Paladin, little did I know I would be KOS to the guards in my home city when I made him, this fact only forced me to run through the sewers to get to the safe haven in north Freeport. If I didn't move fast enough this wench would cut me to pieces every time.
What is the most platinum you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters? My Enchanter has had a large number of items in his keeping including : Amulet of Necropotence (335K), Shield of the Immaculate (210K), 100K horse, Pre-Nerf COS (200K) which I bought and played with for a bit even though I couldn't use it before giving it to a friend.
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it? I still keep my Epic 1.0 in my inventory, I also have all my old PoSky keys, a couple items from the Luclin smithing quests, a whole ton of Kael Drakkal armor pieces, my PoP ornate legs (probably one of my best investments, cost me 100K, at the time you could TGB with them), a large selection of robes from my earlier days. I pretty much kept anything that reminds me of the good times I had leveling, my first raids, and some of my best investments. If I had to chose one thing, it would be the Ornate legs, they helped many raids get back on their feet quicker.
What do you like best about EverQuest? What I like (liked) best about EQ was the mystery, when I started playing there was no tutorial, nothing to tell me how to do this or that, no one to hold my hand.
Describe your best experience from playing EverQuest? I honestly don't think I could single out any one experience and place it on a list, although I would say that leveling up to 65 was one of the most memorable parts, knowing that there were tons of things that could stomp my chanter self into the ground was quite entertaining, the threat just doesn't feel as big anymore.
Do you run or work for an EverQuest Fan Site? Unfortunately I do not
