There has been a steady stream of posts on issues facing midtier raiders. On reflection, I'd argue that a lot of these boil down to one fairly simple ingredient: there are fun things that you can do with a couple of dozen toons, and progression that is possible with 54 characters. But if your raid force lands in between, with 36 or so toons, you'll stagnate. I'd therefore like to propose looking at adding an option for a smaller (36 limit) raid for Demiplane and Deathknell level events, with less loot, that shares the same lockout timers as the traditional 54 person raids. Ideally these events would be tuned to be roughly as difficult (with 36) as the 54-character events are when you have about 48 characters in them; that is to say, harder but not impossible, and with appropriately reduced rewards. Last night I got to think about new idea to make rogues, monks bards berserkers and rangers slightly different and add an extra aspect of skill requirement to the game. Currently all classes can climb ladders, but what if these ladders could be flagged as rogue bard and ranger only and made to look like part if the environment, like a wall or tree? Rogues and bards would find in dungeons these ladders only they could climb, whilst outdoors would contain rogue and ranger ladders. Monks and berserkers wouldn't be able to climb these ladders, but would have a jump higher than normal AA. Here follows an example of how this could be now used to make an event more of a challenge. In the room is a ledge that only a monk or berserker could leap up to, (or any class duel and grav fluxed). On the ledge is a clicky ladder object that lowers a ladder that now one of the others can use to climb to that ledge. Once on the ledge there is a ladder they can use to climb up even higher. A secret door now needs to be opened to get into a passageway. In the passage a trap needs to be disarmed, and further down a chest to open. Inside the chest a key to return to the group/raid to open a door so they can continue into the event. This room contains a pit full of high pillars ladders and vines. On three sides of the room are buttons. Each button must be reached through leaping or climbing through this maze and clicked all at the same time to trigger the event.
