Strangest grouping you had – Discussion started by Community
Member jc12741 I'm a level 75 ranger on Maelin. In my time on Norrath I've had a few strange groupings.
- I was main healer for an LDoN group we not only survived but finished the LDoN. Was me, a Monk, A Wizzy, and 3 mages.
- I did a DoN Creator with just another ranger and a Druid. We kite the whole thing.
- Did a group in Velks 5 rangers and Bst. That was fun.
Would like to hear some of your strangest groupings and did you live thru it.
Epic 3.0 – Discussions started by Community Member
Geaolien Perhaps with next expansion, Discuss here =)
I'm sure well be seeing new epics again in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens next expansion because saving item power for new epics is only reason I can see for the why current group weapons are so underpowered. A epic weapon that is only 20% better then last expansions group weapons isn't that epic but if you hold back group weapons a expansion and then release epics in next you get the power jump that make epics feel epic.
The amount of work needed to make epic quests shouldn't be under estimated though you are looking at probably 10 encounters per epic if they follow pre quest 3.0-3.5 model they did last time. It's probably more work to make new epics then it is to design all raid content for a new expansion.

How much *confirmed* dps do you do? – Discussion started by Community Member
Mikazu Hypothesis: Group geared melee dps (damage per second) is lagging. I would like to verify or refute this claim. With that in mind, please post the following:
- Class
- Level
- Offense AAs
- Weapon
- Group dps
- Solo dps
For group purposes, consider 100% haste but no outside procs (i.e. don't count shaman procs toward your total) and don't consider over haste (unless you're a bard). If you're a hybrid, base your mana usage on the idea of a sustained, long term group. If you're a caster, again consider sustained dps (you're gonna be with the group for 2 hours - what is your average dps each fight for those 2 hours).
For solo purposes, again consider 100% haste as a baseline (use of pots) as a melee class. Casters consider damage from first tick to last.
What am I hoping to accomplish here? I would like to try to put numbers to damage per second by class. I really do believe group geared melee classes are HORRIBLY behind in terms of dps vs casters and, more to the point, raid geared melee. But I don't have numbers to prove this. I would like to get some 'facts' (as much as can be expected from a thread like this) to see if there is indeed a disparity, or if it's all in my head.
If it does turn out that group geared melee dps IS lacking, I would beg the developers to seriously consider a major increase to this. Not everybody can get raid geared weapons. I would like to see what percentage of dps a group geared melee class has as compared to the same class with a raid geared weapon. I would like to put forward that, while raid geared classes SHOULD have an advantage over group geared classes, it should be in the order of 150% more dps. So if a raid geared class does 1500 dps, it should be possible for a group geared class to do 1000 dps (and a bazaar geared class should do around 900 dps).
This might be contentious, but lack of dps is, in my opinion, one of the major problems affecting the game today. Great strides have been made in terms of armour to narrow the gap between casual and raider, but it feels like the dps gap continues to widen. Hence, this thread.
So, I have two classes to contribute:
Shadowknight
- Level 76
- Mainly proc increasing AAs (under 10 pure offensive AAs)
- Epic 1.5
- 150 dps melee / 50 dps proc and spell / 50 dps pet
- Basically the same as above
Shaman
- Level 80
- Critical afflication 15
- N/A
- 600 dps (three dots) + 100 dps (pet)
- 1200 dps (7 rotating dots)
