South By Southwest (SXSW) is a music, movies and media conference. Held annually in Austin, TX, it takes place March 12-16, 2010. The convention as it stands today is actually the merging of three conventions -- Music, Film, and Interactive -- and SXSW Interactive is the portion that covers new media and emerging technology, including video games.

SOE has submitted proposals for a couple of panels that we would love to present at SXSW Interactive...and our panel proposals are now swimming happily in a pool with about 2,600 others. Wow!

Since there's no way they can allow 2,600 panels, SXSW has opened part of the decision to the public. Voting has begun for the SXSW Interactive 2010 panels, and you can help choose which ones will be selected.

We encourage everyone who is thinking of attending SXSW to go vote! Even folks who aren't planning to attend can vote.

To vote specifically for the SOE panels, you'll just need to register at the SXSW site (this will only take a minute or two and doesn't require conference registration), verify yourself when they send you an email, and then click here to see which panels we have at stake. You can vote for any or all of them; whatever subjects interest you and you think would be of benefit to the attendees of SXSW. (Please note that the DCUO panel has been proposed by Wired.)

We're looking forward to hearing if we made the cut. Voting closes Sept. 4th, and SXSW hopes to reveal the first batch of "winners" in October.

Thank you for your support!
