New Mount Concept - Discussion started by Community Member Wildeone

Mounts were introduced into EverQuest in the Luclin expansion, nearly nine years ago. Over the years, there have been adjustments to the creature getting ridden, but never an addition to the concept itself. Basically, the 'Ooo!' factor of mounts has deteriorated, and should be redefined.

That said, I propose to you piggy back mercs.

Picture it now - A froglok riding piggy back upon an orc. You see the entire art of the orc, while adding a fun factor into the mix. Obviously, ogres and trolls are exempt from ever using these mounts, blame the unions.

What do you think? I think it'll provide an energetic flair that EverQuest needs. It would be the perfect induction to the Marketplace.

Epic Longevity - Discussion started by Community Member doktartp

Was just sitting around thinking bout this... Only half the classes in EQ still use the epic clicks (ones that scale infinitely) and only 1 can use a level 70 focus that scales infinitely. Any chance on removing the level cap on clicks and focuses on the rest?

Ranking Classes in a Raid Setting - Discussion started by Community Member Hina

A little background…

I just came back from a 6 year break and I'm loving mercs. I plan to be 90% solo, and am choosing a class primarily with this in mind. Help me decide between 4 classes.

I've narrowed it down to mage, necro, enchanter, ranger.

I have a 67 mage currently, and none of the other classes. I was charming elementals in Bastion of Thunder with a cleric merc on the mage for a long time, getting about 1 AA every 4 mins w/ no lesson/potion. I really loved charming, but I was sad to see that mages get no more charm spells past 65.

I see that necros not only get undead charms all the way to 85, they also get mez and slow. Basically, I could clear out any non-raid undead zone with a cleric merc, unless something drastically changes past 65.

Unless I am charming, I would much prefer to use a DPS merc. I like melee, but I think the pure melee classes are boring, ranger seemed a good hybrid, will he be stuck using the cleric merc though?

Enchanters are the most powerful charmers, but it also seems like I won't be casting a whole lot other than tash/slow and maybe a cripple, I fear that I would become bored eventually with this playstyle, at least necros have other options.

Mage has been pretty good, even without charming. Have been using the wizard merc lately, I like killing stuff quick as all heck, then using ooc regen, and do it again, these long minute+ kills bore me.

I'm mostly looking for what I can expect from these classes, solo, 65+, because I'm not quite sure what to expect atm.

Thank you =)
