Greetings Norrathians,
It is my duty to inform you all that Piestro has fallen through a time shift and has landed in some future place in Norrath. He is not gone; you will still find him helping out from time to time, as he is quite attached to the EverQuest community!
I suppose you're all wondering why I am telling you this. My name is Robyn Vallee and as of this week, I am the Community Manager for EverQuest. I am far from "new" in the EverQuest and SOE world though; I am sure most have you seen me around in some form or another as Naylie DelANews.
I started my adventure in Norrath in March of 1999, sitting next to a friend, watching him die repeatedly at the feet of the Kelethin guards, who failed to protect his female high elf enchanter from the pawns of Crushbone. I decided to create a male wood elf druid, feeling that I had to log in and play along. Not long after, I settled on my female barbarian warrior. You have to love a kilt!
In November of the same year, I embarked on my own personal journey here at Sony Online Entertainment as a Game Master in Customer Service – that's when GM Naylie was born! I spent many an exciting evening answering petitions, assisting my fellow Norrathians, and eating random adventurers in the guise of Lady Vox. Rawr!
As of today, I have been at SOE for over 12 years. I worked in Customer Service for EverQuest and Star Wars: Galaxies for a few years before moving over to the Community Relations Team. In all that time, I never stopped being involved with EverQuest. For the last seven years, I have worked with some of the most passionate and devoted EQ players our world has ever known as the Guide Program Community Manger. Working with the Guide Program has been a humbling and amazing experience; I have met so many amazing people in every walk of life, country, and background, all of us having the same passion about the game that started our love affair with Norrath.
What all of this boils down to is that I have been actively involved with the communities of EverQuest, EverQuest II, and Vanguard for a very long time. It is my pleasure to now take the reins as your EverQuest Community Manager and I look forward to being an active part of this community and game that started it all.
Sincerely,
Your gnome reporter!
Robyn "Naylie" Vallee
